Day Zero

If you ain’t puckered up, then you ain’t drivin’ fast enough.

In other words, if you aren’t challenging yourself in life then you need to re-evaluate how you are spending your days on earth. I reached this realization a while back after another day, in a seemingly endless string of useless days, spent not accomplishing much, or worse yet, not having much of an impact.

It is a nerve racking decision to quit the comfort of a mundane, yet stable “job” in favor of pursuing a goal of reaching your ideal of happy potential. Funny thing is, once the decision is made and wheels begin to turn in your new direction, the nerves settle and a sense of calm (and ultimately relief) begin to fill the cockles of your heart. At least that has been my experience so far. Granted it is only day zero….

So here I go, out on my own to see what I can make of the few short years I have left. At least pants will be optional on most days…

Still compared to those a stones throw away from you
Our lives have both been relatively easy
Take a year and make a break
There ain’t that much at stake
The answers could be relatively easy
